DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of the senior mechanical engineer, the candidate will support production, quality and purchasing within Fordia. The candidate will work on the full product range, giving them an incredible perspective over the company. They will also be responsible for the technical portfolio optimization. This position is an great opportunity for career development within Epiroc. Main tasks and responsibilities Engineering support Drawing analysis and review in collaboration with quality control, purchasing and internal/external manufacturers Engineering change management within the company Support the quality control department with production issues and derogations Support the purchasing department with modification requests from suppliers Qualification of products with specific suppliers Analysis of part compatibility including calculation and mechanical tests Evaluate the financial impact of design choices Update technical drawings, specifications and BOMs Other tasks required by the position REQUIREMENTS Mandatory Registered with the Ordre des Ingénieurs Québec (OIQ). BSc mechanical engineering or equivalent Experience with mechanical product design and selection Spoken and written French and English. French is the work language at Epiroc Montreal. It is essential to be fluent in this language. TECHNICAL SKILLS Mandatory Experience in mechanical product design Mastery of a CAD software, SolidWorks and/or Inventor preferred Experience with manufacturing and assembly drawings Experience evaluating the impact of design choices and modifications The candidates must demonstrate having experience designing mechanical parts in a professional environment. Asset Quality control and inspection experience Experience in a manufacturing environment Use of a vault for document management Use of an ERP system Experience in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment SKILLS Investigation abilities and challenging current techniques Basic project management Curiosity and autonomy Detail oriented, consistency Interpersonal skills Open communication Teamwork
