Site Reliability Engineer - DevOps

Job Title : Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Location : Chennai (Guindy) Experience : 5-8 years Notice Period : Immediate or serving notice (August joiners preferred) Work Mode : 5 days in-office References are highly appreciated. Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid development background, combined with experience in monitoring, automation, and support of applications and infrastructure in cloud environments. Key Responsibilities : System Monitoring and Performance Optimization : - Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using tools like AppDynamics, Prometheus, DataDog, NewRelic, and Dynatrace. - Develop customized metrics exporters and dashboards to provide insights into application performance. Incident Management and L3 Support : - Act as a point of contact for escalated support issues, providing L3 support for applications and infrastructure. - Troubleshoot incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. Infrastructure Management : - Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. - Collaborate with development teams to ensure reliability and scalability of applications. Automation and Scripting : - Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell scripting, or Perl to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous deployment and integration. Documentation and Reporting : - Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and procedures. - Generate regular reports on system performance and incident response metrics. Collaboration and Communication : - Work closely with development teams to ensure alignment on reliability goals and performance metrics. - Participate in on-call rotations and collaborate on incident response with other SREs and support teams. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience in software development with languages such as Java, .NET, or Python. - Strong knowledge of monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Prometheus, DataDog, etc.) and logging tools (Splunk, Kibana). - Familiarity with visualization tools like Grafana. - Experience in building and configuring customized metric exporters and dashboards. - Knowledge of cloud technologies and infrastructure management. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
