Managing Accountant - Construction

£40,000 - £50,000

London

Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Managing Accountant to oversee our company's financial operations and ensure the effective management of our financial resources. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving financial performance, implementing financial strategies, and providing strategic guidance to senior management.

Responsibilities:
* Overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Managing the day-to-day activities of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial analysis.
* Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Monitoring cash flow, liquidity, and financial health to identify risks and opportunities and make strategic recommendations to senior management.
* Providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and drive business growth.
* Collaborating with other departments to support project costing, pricing, and profitability analysis.
* Leading the annual audit process and liaising with external auditors and tax advisors.
* Mentoring and developing finance team members to build a high-performing and cohesive team.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
* Proven experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
* Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
* Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
