BIM Technician

Job Description

I am on the lookout for an experienced draughtsperson to provide high-quality engineering drafting services for a client in Glasgow.

The role involves producing mechanical plant and pipework layouts, as well as detailed thermal cabin sections and elevations, based on designs from architects and structural engineers.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

Salary

Salary is dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to develop detailed design plans, sections, schematics, and more.
• Create accurate and high-quality 3D models and visualizations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of design details in Revit/CAD.
• Offer technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
• Ensure that all drawings are fully coordinated, clash-free, and accurately incorporated into the overall design.
• Produce Revit/CAD drawings within specified deadlines.
• Maintain accurate drawing references, update revision statuses, and ensure all issued drawings include an accompanying register.
• Liaise with other designers and consultants when necessary.

Skills and Experience

• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiar with process plant applications, working with the latest versions.
• Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Skilled CAD operator, proficient in using the latest versions of AutoCAD.
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an intuitive design approach.
• Good communication skills and an understanding of the construction process.
• Ability to adhere to and maintain company standards and workflows for BIM, Revit, and CAD.
• Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) is desirable but not essential.

• Self-motivated and dependable.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Requirements

• This role will primarily be office-based, with occasional site visits.
