Graduate Estimator

Job Description:

As a Graduate Estimator, you will support the estimation team in calculating costs and materials required for roofing and cladding projects. This entry-level role involves assisting in the review of architectural plans, conducting site visits, analyzing labor, material, and time requirements, and contributing to the preparation of cost estimates for bids and proposals. You will work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and suppliers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the industry. This role is ideal for recent graduates looking to develop their skills and build a career in construction estimation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in reviewing project specifications, architectural drawings, and scope of work.
• Participate in site visits to gather information and assess conditions.
• Help calculate material quantities, labor costs, and time requirements.
• Contribute to the preparation of cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Support coordination with suppliers to obtain material pricing.
• Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to refine estimates.
• Learn and apply industry standards, materials, and construction methods.

Qualifications:

• Recent graduate with a degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of construction processes, preferably in roofing and cladding.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with estimation software is a plus.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.
