We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Document Controller, to be involved in the safety and regulatory compliance for game changing technology within the nuclear industry.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Programme Manager and working alongside the already established document controllers, this role plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining documentation and Life Time Quality records throughout the Rolls-Royce SMR organisation. The role shall support the strategy, development and management of both internal and external documentation while supporting the deployment of team members in those elements.

Key Results Areas

  • Documentation Management System in place and utilised internally and externally
  • Development of Lifetime Quality Records strategy and deployment
  • Robust documentation control measures in place to ensure documentation reliability and accessibility
  • Documentation management process and procedure adherence
  • Robust regular quality checks on system registers
  • Documentation status reporting
  • Documentation system improvements

Key Selection Criteria

  • Documentation, procedure, process management system establishment and ongoing
  • management
  • Documentation control internally and externally to ensure reliability in documentation and
  • accessibility, again internally and externally
  • Managing day to day administration of the document management system
  • Demonstrable adherence to internal and external documentation management policies and
  • procedures
  • Performing a comprehensive quality check on each document and associated documents, following the programme defined documents protocols
  • Experienced in the creation and review of documents with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Documentation system improvements
  • Working alongside the Life Time Quality Records team


Training and Qualification Requirements

  • IT skills covering Access, Excel, Word and Outlook. Familiar with and experienced in using web-based applications/software
  • Knowledge and use of document control systems


Pay and Benefits

  • We anticipate paying a salary of between £28,800 - £38,000, plus:-
  • Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 7%
  • Benefits Allowance – £2,200, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  • Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
  • Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
  • Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
  • £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases

Each Rolls-Royce SMR power station will have the capacity to generate 470MW of low carbon energy, equivalent to more than 150 onshore wind turbines and enough to power a million homes. Our Screening Process

Due to the safety regulations within the nuclear industry, applicants will be required to participate in following additional screening:-

  • Obtaining Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
  • Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check
