Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Financial Analyst in the financial industry, based in London, Ontario, Canada. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data, developing profit-driven action plans, and supporting project managers with large-scale projects.Responsibilities:- Analyze and interpret complex financial data, providing insights to drive business performance.- Collaborate closely with Project Managers in planning exercises such as forecasting, budgeting, profitability analysis, and reporting.- Assist in the monthly close process, identifying and analyzing trends and variances related to revenue.- Uphold high standards through comprehensive monthly reporting packages and thorough internal analysis of financial data.- Reconcile large projects upon completion to close out in the financial system.- Prepare bonding contract status reports and quarterly work-on-hand reports for surety.- Support in the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve business goals.- Contribute to discussions that enhance business insights using data and facts.- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting that support strategic decision-making.- Maintain robust financial systems and controls to safeguard company assets.This role will require a deep understanding of large job accounting procedures, proficiency with financial software and tools, and outstanding communication, reporting, and presentation skills. The ability to perform account reconciliation, accounts receivable management, billing, invoice processing, and gross margin analysis is also crucial. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and knowledge in construction projects' accounting and deferred revenue is a plus.- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.- Familiarity with Account Reconciliation and Accounts Receivable (AR).- Experience in Billing and Invoice Processing.- Understanding of Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Cash Flow Forecasts.- Knowledge of Fixed Assets and Accounting for Construction Projects.- Ability to conduct Gross Margin Analysis and manage Deferred Revenue.- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
