Business address: 20 Carlson Court, Suite 105, Toronto, ON, M9W 7K6 Title of position: Electrician NOC: 72201 – Industrial electricians Location of Work: Various Projects across Saskatchewan, Canada Office Location: RR1, Leroy, SK S0K 2B0 Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, project-based position Employment Conditions: Morning, Day, Evening, Overnight, Weekend Start Date: As soon as possible Number of positions: 13 Travel Requirements: Travel will be required to Aecon’s sites throughout Canada Language: English Essential Function and Responsibilities Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Electrician Apprentice & Journeyperson will be responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field regarding all matters of construction electrical matters to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements. Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out. Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment Layout and plan the installation. Quantify and order required material Provide input relating to the resolution of any design or installation issue Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines Required Knowledge and Skills Certified Journeyperson Ticket or Indentured in Apprenticeship Program 2-3 years’ experience high voltage, lockout tagout experience including circuit isolation 2-3 Years’ experience in either industrial (Oil and Gas) or Maintenance projects 2-3 years’ experience Reading and interpreting electronic schematics, drawings, and aligning to provincial standards 2-3 years’ experience working with high voltage power equipment 2-3 years’ experience commissioning and decommissioning electrical systems Electrical ability, strength, and manual dexterity Capable of working at various heights The ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time The ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately The ability to get along well with others on a work team Must be willing to work in remote job locations and at various heights Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test Proficient communication and reading skills Ability to do very precise work Ability to distinguish colors to work with color-coded wiring Compensation and Benefits $45.33 - $50.00 hourly rate Shift rotation to change per project requirements 14 days on, 7 days off 21 days on, 7 days off 20 days on, 8 days off 6 days on, 1 day off 10 hours per day – hours flexible to change Overtime is given at the rate of 1.5 times the employee straight time hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Overtime will be paid when an employee works on any regularly scheduled day off All compensation and benefits will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement or Prejob Conference 6% vacation and 4.5% statutory holiday pay will be provided in accordance with the Collective Agreement or Prejob Conference. Camp accommodations and travel allowance will be provided for those residing further than 85km from the project site, Saskatoon or Regina.
