Payroll Supervisor

We are working on an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Supervisor to join our client in Guelph, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of employee information, costs, and remittances. You will also supervise a team of payroll clerks, handle complex payroll situations, and monitor salary and benefits budgets.Responsibilities:- Supervise and support a team of 4-6 payroll clerks- Oversee the processing of multiple payrolls bi-weekly- Ensure compliance with financial controls, Board policies, procedures, collective agreements, government legislation, and Ministry regulations- Manage complex payroll situations such as gradual return to work schedules and pays- Monitor and manage salary and benefits budgets, government remittances, and retro payments calculations and processing- Coordinate closely with the HRIS provider to ensure system updates and changes are implemented accurately- Handle complex calculations for compensation, benefits, and pensions when an employee leaves partially through the year- Manage deductions and remittances and reconciliations of benefits and pensions- Participate in special projects as needed- 5 years experience in payroll - Extensive experience in Benefit Functions- Knowledge of Canadian Payroll and Benefits Payroll- must have an active PCP or PLP designation- Familiarity with Full Cycle Payroll- Experience with HRIS Payroll System- Understanding of Local Payroll Tax- Experience managing Payroll for over 500 employees- Experience with Union Payroll- Ability to process Bi-weekly Payroll- Familiarity with Special Payroll Deductions- Experience with Year-end Payroll- Proven skills in Payroll Management- Payroll Supervisory experience is a must have Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
