Business address: 20 Carlson Court, Suite 105, Toronto, ON, M9W 7K6 Title of position: Pipefitter NOC: Pipefitter NOC 72301 – Steamfitters, pipefitters and sprinkler system installers Location of Work: Various Projects across Alberta, Canada Office Location: 53367 RR 232, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 4V4 / 125 St, Fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L 4G2 Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, project-based position Employment Conditions: Morning, Day, Evening, Overnight, Weekend Start Date: As soon as possible Number of positions: 15 Travel Requirements: Travel will be required to Aecon’s sites throughout Canada Language: English Essential Function and Responsibilities Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Pipefitter / Steamfitter Apprentice & Journeyperson will be responsible for providing full cycle, in depth knowledge and support for the profession of Pipefitter / Steamfitter to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements. Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks Make detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, solder, assemble and install metal, plastic and fibreglass pipes, valves and fittings Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure in position Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks Remove and replace worn components and do general maintenance work Required Knowledge and Skills Certified Journeyperson Trade Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program 2-3 years’ experience reading piping and instrumentation design diagrams 2-3 years’ experience laying out and installing piping, tubing, fittings, and all related components. 2-3 years’ experience installing, testing, and maintaining low- and high-pressure steam and condensate systems 2-3 years’ experience rigging, hoisting, lifting, and positioning equipment. 2-3 Years’ Oil/Gas Industry experience Physical strength and stamina Manual dexterity Mechanical aptitude The ability to read and understand complex instructions and drawings The ability to do careful and precise work May be required to lift items weighing over 25 kilograms Must be willing to work in remote job locations Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site Compensation and Benefits $45.33 - $50.00 hourly rate Shift rotation to change per project requirements 5 days on, 2 days off 10 days on, 4 days off 14 days on, 7 days off 21 days on, 7 days off 6 days on, 1 day off 10 hours per day – hours flexible to change Overtime is given at the rate of 1.5 times the employee straight time hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
