Job Description
**Job Title:** Nuclear Medicine Technologist
**Job Specialty:** Radiology / Cardiology
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 16:00)
**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Tech experience. Independent work is required. Seasoned travelers preferred, though experienced first-time travelers will be considered.
**License:** Must have a VA license or proof of application and proof of incumbent active license from another state.
**Certifications:** BLS, NMTCB (ARRT preferred)
**Must-Have:**
- General skills such as IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and PACS.
- Nuclear Medicine Procedure experience, including cardiac, bone scan, brain scan, lung scan, renal flow, thyroid studies, SPECT, myocardial.
- Proof of VA license application if not already licensed.
**Job Description:**
- Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment.
- Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists.
- Subject patients to radiation.
- Conduct general nuclear medicine studies, including bones, renals, gastric emptying, GI bleeds, HIDAs, thyroid uptake/scan, parathyroids, and VQ perfusions.
- Include cardiac and PET/CT procedures in daily tasks.
- Manage daily caseload of 15-18.
- Cover one night per week on-call and one weekend per month. Call hours are 17:30-06:30 Monday-Friday and 24 hours Saturday-Sunday.
- Work with patients of all ages, from adolescents to geriatrics.
- Wear pewter grey scrubs as required.
**Additional Requirements:**
- Compliance with Flu vaccine requirements during flu season. Medical or religious exemptions for the Flu vaccine require agency verification according to CMS guidelines.
- COVID-19 vaccine required; medical or religious exemptions only.
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility.
- Potential floating requirements within rotation policies and standards.
**Training:**
- Must attend EPIC Radiology CT online class, participation depends on prior experience with EPIC systems.
**Notes:**
- The position requires flexibility regarding time off, work may include some holidays.
- Travel allowance for on-call duties not specified.
