Job Description
**Job Title:** Sterile Processing Technician
**Job Specialty:** Surgical Services
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Mid 5x8-Hour (14:00 - 22:30), Monday-Friday
**Guaranteed Hours:** 3 shifts per 13 weeks
**Experience:** 2 years required; first-time travelers with Trauma I experience are reviewed
**License:** Pending state license accepted
**Certifications:** National certifications preferred (HSPA/IAHCSMM/NBSTSA and/or NCCT); BLS required
**Must-Have:** Epic charting experience preferred
**Job Description:**
- Function collaboratively in the operating room, supporting medical and nursing staff during all surgical phases.
- Prepare equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization for medical team use.
- Assemble case carts/trays for various surgical procedures.
- Perform direct patient care tasks as needed.
- Support clinics, procedural areas, and over 72 operating rooms.
- Handle complex tray configurations across multiple specialties, including ophthalmology, neurosurgery, ENT, trauma, transplant, cardiac, orthopedic, labor and delivery, and more.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines for a level 1 trauma center’s sterile processing and operational support services.
- Floating within the service line is required to meet facility needs.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
