Job Description

**Job Title:** Radiologic Technologist - CT

**Job Specialty:** CT

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Nights, 1800-0630; 5x8 Hr

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours

**Experience:** One year of related experience

**License:** Registered Radiologic Technologist

**Certifications:**
- BLS (AHA) Required
- ACLS (AHA) Preferred
- PALS (AHA) Preferred

**Must-Have:** High School Diploma/G.E.D., proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)

**Job Description:**
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams on patients, ensuring sensitivity to their needs.
- Follow standards of safe radiation practice, demonstrating leadership abilities and serving as a role model for other technologists.
- Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel and ensure current standards of practice for the unit.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring safety for self, patients, and other individuals by adhering to radiation safety regulations and minimizing exposure.
- Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instructions regarding the procedure.
- Assist and position patients during exams, observe patient and equipment, and report/document unusual occurrences and patient conditions.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
- Communicate in writing and verbally with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff to facilitate the continuum of care.
- Assist with patient transport as needed and perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Perform technologist duties of other registered modalities if assigned by management.
- Provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours according to department/facility policy.
- Correctly input charges and required data for procedures and supplies used during exams.
- Complete required hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam.
- Prepare exam materials and maintain technical operation of equipment, notifying service when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work area and document quality checks and equipment maintenance.
- Identify problems proactively and communicate with appropriate management personnel.
- Establish constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and system departments.
- Maintain high skill levels through ongoing education and participation in professional activities.
- Participate in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists.
- Engage in quality and process improvement initiatives within the department/hospital.
- Ensure compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.
- Contribute to accreditation as requested.
- Demonstrate effective time management and adaptability to changing technologies, policies, and staffing needs.
