Job Description
Weekly Pay Range - $1836 To $2040
**Job Title:** Surgical Tech I
**Job Specialty:** General Surgery
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 8-hour variable shifts
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of scrub experience
**License:** Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or a minimum of 2 years of surgical scrubbing experience
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Prefer Certification in Surgical Technology
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with general, robotics, neuro, and ortho (total joint) cases
- Understanding that the facility is a drug-free campus and willingness to produce a negative drug screen for all panels
**Job Description:**
- Participate in surgeries across several specialties, including general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics, robotics, neurology, orthopedics, spine, ear, eye, nose, and throat (EENT), and cardiothoracic.
- Work in an operating room setting with 15 suites, handling an average of 25-45 cases per day.
- Collaborate with a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) on each shift who does not take patient assignments but is available to assist in rooms when needed.
- Adhere to an 8-hour shift schedule with various start times: 6:45 AM, 10:45 AM, and 2:45 PM.
- Participate in on-call rotations approximately once per week on weeknights (7 PM to 7 AM) and one weekend per month (7 AM to 7 AM).
- Provided with scrubs; maintain a casual professional dress code when entering or leaving the facility.
- Complete a unit/department-specific orientation consisting of 5 shifts.
- Work closely with 1-2 surgical techs per patient and support from 3-4 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) during the day, reducing to 1 by 7 PM to help clean rooms.
Additional Information:
- The position will accept local candidates.
- There is no floating requirement.
- The policy allows call-offs equivalent to 12 hours every 13 weeks without penalty. Orientation hours will not count towards guaranteed hours.
