Weekly Pay Range - $2073 To $2303
**Job Title:** Radiology Technologist
**Job Specialty:** Radiology Diagnostic
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 10-hour day shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred. One year post-certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers.
**License:** LRT Kansas, required (applicable entities).
**Certifications:** ARRT-R: Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT), and BLS American Heart Association Current Basic Life Support.
**Must-Have:** Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma as required.
**Job Description:**
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams, maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
- Follow standards for safe radiation practice.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other technologists.
- Serve as a clinical resource for students, staff technologists, and other hospital personnel.
- Ensure current standards of practice for the unit.
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
- Practice rules and regulations for radiation safety, reducing exposure to ALARA.
- Produce quality images accurately and promptly.
- Prepare patients for exams, providing information and instructions to them and their families.
- Assist and position patients during exams, observing and documenting any unusual occurrences.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Perform duties of other registered modalities as assigned by management.
- Provide on-call coverage outside standard hours per department policy.
- Correctly input charges and required data for procedures and supplies used.
- Complete required hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam.
- Prepare room, equipment, and materials needed for the exam.
- Maintain equipment operations and notify service and supervisor of any problems.
- Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients.
- Proactively identify problems and follow-up with management.
- Develop constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and system departments.
- Maintain high skill levels through ongoing education and share information with staff.
- Assist in educating student radiographers and other health care professionals.
- Engage in professional activities through organizations, journal clubs, and online education.
- Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.
- Contribute to accreditation efforts as requested.
- Demonstrate effective time management and proactive workload prioritization.
- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing needs.
