**Job Title:** Critical Care Technician

**Job Specialty:** CMH

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 1st 12-hour days, float as needed

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 per week

**Experience:** Hospital experience required

**License:** State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification

**Certifications:** American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire

**Must-Have:** Experience with EPIC system

**Job Description:**

- Assist Registered Nurses with delegated tasks related to acute patient care.
- Provide age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner.
- Report to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty each shift.
- Participate in the completion of a skill competency checklist, validated by a Registered Nurse.
- Complete a Critical Care Tech course or show equivalency within 6 months of hire.
- Successfully complete an arrhythmia recognition course and orientation to work as a monitor technician within 6 months of hire.
- Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete a written competency test to meet the monitor technician requirement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing.

(Note: This is a CNA-type position and requires successful completion of any mandatory training and competency assessments.)
