**Job Title:** Radiology Technologist
**Job Specialty:** Diagnostic Radiology
**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks
**Shift:** 10-hour day shift, Monday-Friday (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred; one year post-certification experience required
**License:** Kansas LRT (as applicable)
**Certifications:** ARRT-R Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT); BLS from the American Heart Association
**Must-Have:** Competence in Diagnostic Imaging, Patient Care, Time Management, Imaging Documentation, Process Improvement, Scheduling, Medical Imaging, Radiation Safety, Maintenance, Teaching
**Job Description:**
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
- Follow standards of safe radiation practice and ALARA principles.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and serve as a role model for other technologists.
- Act as a clinical resource for students, staff technologists, and other personnel.
- Ensure current practice standards for the department are met.
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
- Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Prepare patients for exams, providing information and responding to their needs.
- Assist patients during exams, positioning them appropriately.
- Observe and document patient conditions and equipment status during procedures.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal equipment/resource use.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Perform duties outside of the original assignment as assigned by management in other registered modalities.
- Provide on-call coverage outside of standard hours per policy.
- Input charges and required data for procedures and supplies.
- Complete required hospital/medical imaging paperwork per exam.
- Prepare the room, equipment, and materials needed for exams.
- Maintain technical operation of equipment, notifying services when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients, conducting quality checks.
- Identify problems proactively and follow up with management.
- Establish constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and departments.
- Maintain a high skill level through education and meeting attendance, sharing knowledge with staff.
- Assist in the clinical and/or didactic education of students and other professionals.
- Engage in professional development and activities.
- Actively participate in quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
- Contribute to accreditation efforts as requested.
- Demonstrate effective time management and adaptability to change.
**Float Requirements:**
- May be required to float to various locations within 60 miles of the original assignment.
- Float assignments may include duties outside the original assignment requirements.
