Teaching Assistant
Challenging Behaviour Support (SEN School)
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Contract Type: Long-term with permanent opportunity

About the Teaching Assistant Role:
We are looking for committed and resilient Teaching Assistants to join an all-through SEN school in Wandsworth. In this role, you’ll support students with complex behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning and achieve their potential. The school caters to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEMH).
Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and group support to students, focusing on managing challenging behaviours
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans
* Use your experience to build positive, supportive relationships with students and manage challenging situations effectively
* Foster a safe and structured learning environment, encouraging social and emotional development
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience, acting as a key role model
About You:
* Experience working with young people from a youth mentor, young offenders, or mental health background is highly desirable
* A strong, empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviours in a school setting
* Ability to commit to full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM) for the long term
* A resilient, calm, and patient attitude, with the ability to adapt to different situations
* Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people
