Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a Head of Environmental and Sustainability has become available with a leading name in the railway electrification sector.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with company policies and legislation governing environmental and sustainability
* Create and put in place the IMS requirements for environmental and sustainability management
* Head up the environmental and sustainability team, providing strong leadership, mentoring and guidance
* Help teams produce EMPs and other related documentation
* Review environmental requirements in Work Package Plans (WPPs)
* Assist with the preparation of consent applications, ensuring these are made in a timely fashion
* Offer guidance to teams with regards to SWMPs, making sure legal requirements are identified and data is properly recorded
* Develop and deliver environmental training, encompassing toolbox talks and specific courses
* Liaise with specialist consultants covering areas such as ecology
The person:
* Previous experience at management / leadership level in environmental and sustainability, preferably within the rail, engineering or construction sectors
* Strong understanding of relevant UK legislation
* Membership of the IEMA (MIEMA)
