Contract Type: Full-Time, Agency
About the Role:
Croydon Council is looking for a highly organized and motivated EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) Assistant to join our SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) team. As an EHCP Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services related to EHC plans. You will play a crucial role in helping children and young people with SEND access the right support by working closely with case officers, families, and education providers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide administrative support in the preparation, coordination, and review of Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans.
* Assist with processing new EHC plan requests, gathering necessary documentation from parents, schools, and professionals.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all cases, ensuring compliance with statutory timelines.
* Coordinate and schedule meetings with parents, schools, and multi-agency teams as part of the EHC needs assessment and review process.
* Respond to queries from parents, carers, and professionals, providing accurate information on EHC processes.
* Monitor deadlines and support the team to ensure that all reports and documentation are completed on time.
* Assist in the production and distribution of letters, reports, and communications related to EHC plans.
* Support the wider SEND team in ensuring a smooth workflow and delivery of high-quality service.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in an administrative role, ideally within education, local government, or a related field.
* Knowledge of SEND legislation and the EHC plan process is desirable but not essential.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with families, professionals, and external agencies.
* Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
* A positive and proactive approach to supporting children and young people with SEND
