(Netezza) Database Administrator

Position: Database Administrator (Netezza Expertise)Location: TorontoJob Type: 12-month contract, hybrid, 2 days onsiteJob Overview:We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator with expertise in Netezza and a strong background in Oracle Database Administration to support our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing Netezza environments, integrating ETL tools, and supporting reporting interfaces. In addition, the role involves collaborating with data warehouse teams to enhance the business intelligence platform and ensuring optimal database performance.Key Responsibilities:- Support and maintain Netezza environments, ensuring high availability and performance.- Manage and monitor Netezza database systems, including performance tuning, security, backup, and recovery.- Assist in integrating ETL tools and reporting interfaces with Netezza, including SAP Data Services and other relevant tools.- Collaborate with data warehouse and business intelligence teams to optimize database and reporting performance.- Perform installations, configurations, and upgrades of Netezza systems and other databases (e.g., Oracle).- Work closely with development teams to support data architecture, design, and implementation in the data warehouse.- Provide technical expertise for data warehousing tools, techniques, and technologies.- Assist in performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization across databases.- Troubleshoot and resolve database and application-related issues.- Maintain documentation for database configurations, maintenance processes, and best practices.Required Qualifications:- Strong expertise in Netezza database administration, with experience managing large-scale environments.- Proven experience in Oracle Database Administration, including installation, performance tuning, and backup/recovery procedures.- Experience in data warehousing, including business intelligence tools, techniques, and technologies.- Hands-on experience with ETL tools, such as SAP Data Services, for extracting, transforming, and loading data.- Experience with monitoring tools and techniques for database performance and health checks.- Strong understanding of database security, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.- Strong communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:- Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or others.- Experience with cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools to improve database administration efficiency.Education:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.Certifications:- Netezza certification preferred.- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is a plus.Please send your resume in Word format to Bronwyn Massey at bronwyn.masseyquantum-qtr.com.REFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN $1,000 For more details, click here.
