Job Title: Life Cycle Material Specialist Location: Ottawa, ON Remote: No Business Unit: Advanced Technologies Department 1: Engineering Department 2: Defence Job Type: Full-time Position Overview Calian is seeking a Life Cycle Material Specialist in Aircrew Helmet Systems and Oxygen Masks to assist our client with the facilitation of their project. Responsibilities - Manage equipment obsolescence by performing life cycle costing and options analysis to optimize efficiency - Assist the Technical Authority (TA) in developing and reviewing equipment requirements and specifications for Statements of Work and Requests for Estimates - Support the TA in developing and implementing test, verification, and validation procedures for ALSE (Aviation Life Support Equipment) - Act as a point of contact (PoC) and liaison for equipment users, field managers, and collateral offices - Enter, verify, and review material data in systems such as DRMIS (SAP), DRP, ADAM, and LMPT - Maintain airworthiness, technical, and support documentation within RDIMS as applicable to the equipment portfolio - Assist the TA to ensure that all Life Cycle Materiel Management (LCMS) activities comply with CTAT regulations and procedures - Provide recommendations for equipment disposal, maintain demilitarization codes, and develop associated procedures - Review equipment entitlements, scale of issues, and initiate change requirements as necessary - Monitor and coordinate deliveries of materials to equipment users at bases, wings, units, squadrons, and schools - Adhere to technical airworthiness policies and procedures, providing technical advice to support airworthiness activities, technical investigations, and engineering support - Participate in and respond to airworthiness and quality system audits - Draft and staff airworthiness processes and other quality system forms for LCMS activities - Verify and confirm integrated logistics support arrangements to meet technical equipment requirements - Provide recommendations to reduce or mitigate hazardous materials or environmental impacts related to equipment management - Attend progress meetings at test establishments, DND units, and commercial facilities - Assist the TA in developing corrective action plans based on airworthiness audits and flight safety inquiries - Provide LCMS advice and recommendations to stakeholders, including the TA, Procurement and Supply Managers, Requirements Officers, Major Crown Project Offices, Project Managers, Test and Evaluation Centres, and Equipment end users - Perform administrative tasks to support the Life Cycle Materiel Management of the assigned equipment portfolio - Complete other tasks as requested by the TA Qualifications must have a minimum of Five (5) years of experience in an Aviation Life Support Equipment/Safety Systems maintenance environment must have a minimum of two (2) years in the last five (5) years performing life cycle management services. must have at least two (2) years of experience in three (3) out of five (5) equipment types listed below: i. Aircrew helmet systems- 190A/P/C, RDVK and MK10R) ii. Oxygen Masks - (HA/LP-CF, HA/LP, MBU 12/P) iii. Helmet/Mask Testers - (Life Support Integrated Testset (LSIT) , Aircrew System Tester (AST). iv. HGU-56/P Flyer’s Helmet; v. Portable Helicopter Oxygen Delivery System (PHODS); Additional Requirements Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level LI-JC1 Become a part of the Calian team and join over 3,000 professionals working on projects that span Canada, the U.S., and international markets.
