Data Specialist

Infotek Consulting is searching for a seasoned Data Specialist to work on GRC initiatives - this is a hybrid contract opportunity based in Toronto: The IT Data Specialist provides technical leadership across a broad range of data analysis functions including data modeling, structured query language (SQL), data quality, data profiling, extract-transform load (ETL), metadata enrichment and management, data provenance and lineage, report design and other specialized data management functions. Works independently as a senior lead and may manage and direct activities related to analysis, design and support of technical data management solutions on various projects ranging in larger projects. Here's some of what you may be asked to perform: • Provide specialized end to end BI support and analytics for the business/function and/or projects/initiatives. • May be considered a subject matter expert in BI and Reporting. MUST HAVE: • 10 years as an IT Risk Specialist with relevant experience in governance, risk and compliance management within regulated industries. • IT governance experience in information security and controls risk frameworks (i.e., ITIL, NIST, COBIT). • Knowledge and experience with various lifecycle methodologies / frameworks, i.e., Agile, Project Management, IT Processes, Risk Management frameworks and process / operations. • GRC background and tools (e.g. RSA Archer, Open Pages, etc.) • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Power BI) • Experience with various programing, data transformation, and database technologies (e.g. MS Access and SQL Queries, Python, Azure, Data Analytics, Power Suite, Advanced Excel) • CRISC and/or CISSP certification or equivalent experience. NICE TO HAVE • Information Security or technology risk and controls background in a financial industry a plus.
