Business Analyst – Collateral Management Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Business Analyst who has experience working in capital markets, specifically collateral, to place at our client, a Big 5 bank. Client: Big 5 Bank Location: Downtown Toronto. 3 days in office Duration of Contract/Perm: 6-month contract with the intention to convert full time. This role demands a strong foundation in collateral, credit validation, and finance, coupled with a proven track record in business analysis. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of income business products and systems, and a keen ability to analyze complex data. Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business requirements, challenges, and opportunities related to collateral management. Conduct in-depth analysis of collateral data, processes, and systems to identify improvement areas and develop actionable recommendations. Develop and maintain comprehensive business requirements and functional specifications for collateral-related projects. Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of collateral management systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Leverage SQL to extract, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making and problem-solving. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and deployment. Provide technical support to resolve collateral-related issues and inquiries. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in collateral management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field. 5 years of experience in business analysis, with a strong focus on collateral management. Proven experience with collateral management tools such as Colline. Proficiency in SQL and data analysis techniques. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Skills Experience with capital markets, credit validation, and adjustment processes. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to collateral management. Hands-on experience with development tools and languages (C#, Python, OOP). Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
