Job Description

Contract: 9 Months Ext Location: Ottawa or Toronto, Ontario Clearance: Enhanced Reliability or Eligible is Mandatory SCOPE The Business Domain Architect is responsible for understanding business processes, objectives and requirements and providing direction to multidisciplinary product teams to align technology solutions to meet those needs. This specific individual will focus on the End-User Computing (EUC) domain as well as across other related technologies serving the Enterprise as a whole. This role involves comprehending business processes, identifying areas for enhancements, and ensuring that technology solutions align with long-term objectives. The Business Domain Architect serves as a liaison between business and IT, offering strategic guidance on technology investments and architectural best practices. For the EUC domain in particular, responsibilities including establishing and maintaining a clear roadmap of technology capabilities that support employees in their ways of working. DUTIES Work closely with business leaders to understand the strategic goals of various business domains and translate these into a clear architectural vision and roadmap. Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs and drive the transition to the future state in collaboration with business stakeholders considering application rationalization, consolidation, and sun-setting. Liaise between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring that business needs are effectively communicated and understood by all parties Analyze and prioritize business strategies, objectives, and challenges to identify opportunities for improvement Foster a culture of innovation within the organization, encouraging new ideas, and promoting the development of innovative products, services and processes Design and define the architecture for the specific business domain, ensuring it supports business objectives, improves efficiency, and fosters innovation. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that fit within the enterprise architecture while meeting the specific needs of the business domain. Ensure seamless integration of domain-specific systems with enterprise-wide platforms, promoting data consistency and operational efficiency. Establish and enforce governance frameworks to ensure that domain-specific architectures adhere to industry standards, regulations, and organizational policies. Create detailed documentation of domain architectures, strategies, and standards, and effectively communicate them to technical and non-technical stakeholders. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES: Must Have: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture, or a related role with a focus on a specific business domain (e.g., End-User Computing, Collaboration, User and Unified Experience, and related technologies Experience with various technologies, with a focus on End User Computing and Collaboration platforms. Proven track record of delivering technology architectural solutions specifically for End-User Computing that align with business goals. Demonstrates a strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strategic Thinking, Innovative thinking and decision-making. Nice to have: Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Architect (CBA), TOGAF Certification, or similar. Understanding of emerging technologies
