Job Description

The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices. Responsibilities Perform on-boarding sessions of new employees Act as the backup resource to the payroll specialist and be able to thoroughly and accurately perform that function when necessary. Ultimate ownership and responsibility over payroll accuracy, approval and timely preparation and submission. Knowledge of payroll and payroll systems Build new HR and related corporate policy Enforcement of Corporate and HR policy Review, validate and implement compensation standards that are inline with market and industry standards. Review and validate the Company’s compensation scale based on empirical data and research. Work with the executive team to develop unique propositions to enable attraction and retention of top talent Ensure human resource personnel policies and procedures are in line with Company goals, priorities, and objectives Forecast and execute the annual budget for the HR department Manage the global payroll and payroll benefits system Administer the global benefit and compensation programs ensuring that they remain market competitive, compelling to candidates, and meet the needs and expectations of our team. Plan, develop and organize a unique hiring culture and human resource experience that reflects the organizational values and which supports and promotes business objectives, priorities and goals Maintain the pulse of employee engagement and bring forward insights and action plans that support the company’s business objectives and goals On-site presence is a must due to the importance and nature of the role Qualifications Bachelor's degree or relevant experience as a human resources professional 5 years' experience in Human Resources Excellent knowledge of relevant Canadian (including Quebec) employment legislation including, but not limited to: Employment Standards, Human Rights, Privacy, Employment & Pay Equity, and Occupational H&S Act Experience/knowledge with processing payroll Ability to engage at all levels within the organization with strong client management skills Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills Bilingual French/English Attention to detail and good judgement Comfortable working in a startup environment Hands-on HR professional
