Instrumentation Specialist

Our valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking an Instrumentation Specialist for a six-month contract role. This is a fly in/fly out role based in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Chartered flights are from Calgary or Edmonton where camp is provided by the client. Rotation for this for this role is a 4x3 (Mon-Thu) rotation. Role expectations : Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) optimization activities at the clients site. Ensure all instruments are added to Maximo. Ensure PMs are setup for all instruments as necessary. Ensure PM frequencies comply with requirements of S23, LTO, IPF commitments. Optimize RCM PM frequencies based on past history of CM work orders for associated assets, vendor recommendations, operating conditions etc. Check PMs for accuracy with respect to correct title, long text description, lead times etc. Make sure the PM long text has the correct maintenance procedure associated with it. Make sure there are no discrepancies within the PM between the PM descriptions, titles and associated Job plans etc. Look for opportunities to change route based PMs to individual instrument PMs. Support E&I maintenance groups to review/optimize maintenance and calibration procedures. Work with Instrument Engineer, Maintenance coordinators, Operations to gather necessary information and implement changes are required. Expected background 10 years’ experience as instrumentation technologist or higher in oil and gas, Utilities or other heavy industries with hands on troubleshooting and reliability improvement experience. Thorough knowledge of field instrumentation installation and reliability aspects. Previous experience with instrumentation reliability improvement efforts, Instrumentation PM plans implementation. Experience with Maximo will be highly preferred. Ability to work at remote work site with field visits.
