We are embarking on a transformative journey to re-architect its digital platform, aiming to deliver higher quality products faster and more efficiently. As part of the Infrastructure and Integration team, you'll collaborate closely with Barclays and Accenture to build a cutting-edge internal developer portal.
We're seeking a skilled Node.js Engineer who can bring deep technical expertise to the team. Node.js is an under-represented skill within Barclays, so this role is crucial in shaping the future of the platform and supporting other developers on their journey.
Your Impact:
Lead the development and design of Node.js solutions, applying industry best practices.
Mentor and coach less-experienced colleagues, building their confidence and skills in Node.js development.
Drive quality through modern testing techniques, including unit, integration, component, and contract testing.What You'll Bring:
Extensive experience with Node.js development and a solid understanding of best practices.
A passion for coaching and supporting less experienced engineers in Node.js, helping to raise the overall skill level of the team.
Strong knowledge of modern application testing methodologies (unit, integration, component, contract).Nice to Have:
Experience in financial services, with an understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
Familiarity with Spotify Backstage or other developer portal frameworks
