Job Description
Purchasing / Procurement Officer – Temporary – Teesside
Location: North East
This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading cleantech, renewable and alternative energy company involved in the development of world leading green energy fuel plant. The role will be supporting the procurement / purchasing team while a member of staff is away. This contract will be c.2-3 months.
Role & Responsibilities
* Dealing directly with suppliers to procure necessary goods and services.
* Ensure the goods and services are delivered on time with correct quantity and specification.
* Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure procurement activities meet operational demand at all times.
* Monitor suppliers’ performance, quality control.
* Manage materials and equipment, both entering and leaving site.
* Preparation of the required documentation (Expenses Sheets along with all supporting invoices and relevant documents) as requested by accounts team for further submission.
* Coordinate with and assist accounts department for purchasing-related activities.
* Conduct market research, supplier evaluation, selection and registration.
* Maintain site procurement plan and other procurement records including soft and hard copy of all PO(s) issued along with complete supporting documents.
* Co-ordinate activities with centralised Supply Chain department.
* Ensure compliance with corporate standards and processes in purchasing and procurement.
* Responsible for maintaining audit documentation.
Key Skills & Knowledge
* Experience in similar role in O&G, renewables, construction or heavy engineering.
* SAP experience.
* Good understanding of Business agreements, Contract terms and conditions.
* MRP/ERP.
* Strong MS Office experience.
* Excellent comminution skills.
* Strong attention to detail, and highly driven.
* Comfortable with change and working under time pressure.
* Team player with excellent communication skills
