Senior/Principal Pipeline Engineer

Job Description
- Apply relevant skills, integrity, and expertise in rigid subsea pipeline engineering, covering design codes, legislative requirements, client specifications, and industry best practices.
- Perform subsea pipeline analysis using various tools and software such as Abaqus, DNV tools, Mathcad spreadsheets, or similar platforms.
- Ensure the production of high-quality deliverables, including design reports, calculation sheets, finite element (FE) analysis, and engineering reviews.
- Provide engineering support to tendering teams, project teams, the field development group, and other stakeholders.
- Operate within standardized engineering processes and systems as outlined in the Business Management and Knowledge Management Centre.
- Adhere to all safety objectives and legislative requirements relevant to the role.
- Manage communication and coordination with external clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support the execution of multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring alignment with budget and schedule.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as project engineering managers, engineering departments, project personnel, and supply chain teams.
- Actively participate in the knowledge consolidation of the "Pipeline and Bundle Department," offering innovative solutions to reduce both costs and risks.
- Mentor and guide junior and graduate engineers.
What experience would we like you to have?
- Degree-level education or higher in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) or in the process of achieving it.
- Experience in pipeline in-place design and trawling analysis.
- Familiarity with scripting (Python/VBA) or general software development and programming is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of subsea pipeline engineering, including design codes such as DNV-ST-F101 and PD 8010-2, as well as standards, recommended practices, and software tools.
- Proficient in pipeline finite element analysis (FEA) and design, with experience using ABAQUS.
- Experience delivering pipeline engineering services, including in-place analysis for both exposed and buried pipelines.
- Strong team player, capable of working collaboratively across multiple projects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates integrity and respect for colleagues.
- Effective communicator within the team and across relevant project personnel.
