I am working with an incredible, high-achieving mainstream school that is looking to appoint a part-time SEN teacher in January 2025.
SEN Teacher's main responsibilities
- To teach pupils with varying needs across the secondary school on a one-to-one basis
- To design, organise, and deliver lessons as specified by the department
- To collect relevant information (e.g. specialist assessment results, educational psychologist reports, etc) about pupils before teaching
- To create, plan, and evaluate multisensory lessons and resources
- To set weekly goals with pupils and follow up on lessons
- To carry out regular assessments and create action plans to track progress
- To collaborate with the Head of Learning Support
- To engage in the wider activities and responsibilities of the department
SEN Teacher's requirements
- Ideally have QTS but will consider an unqualified teacher who wants to progress
- Must have strong academic background and knowledge
- Must have SEN teaching experience, especially with Autism/ASC, ADHD, and Dyslexia
- Must have experience teaching in a secondary school
- Must have a flexible and positive approach
- Must be committed to the safeguarding and well-being of children and young people
