Role Summary

The role of the Regional Compliance Officer will be to set the standard for all units, audit units accordingly and report regularly on findings. They will carry out regular audits, support with refresher training where applicable and report on the current status of the vehicle/driver compliance.

Responsibilities

  • To administer EU Drivers Tachograph Regulations
  • To administer Road Transport Working Time Regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections of all transportation equipment to verify they remain in good operational and safety conditions
  • Performing thorough audits in the areas of transport compliance and preparing necessary reports
  • Providing training to staff in the area of transport compliance where required
    • will be responsible for ensuring the Group transport function is compliant against all Road Transport Legislation and DVS
  • Be responsible for supporting both the central and depot transport teams with tachograph analysis and Driver Health & Safety
  • Will be required to, and will be responsible for carrying out depot compliance audits and investigations on site should an incident occur and provide support to ensure only the best compliance levels are retained
  • Ensuring that all Operating centres are operated in line with the current obligations of the Operators Licence
  • Depot Managers are fully aware of their responsibilities in terms of Transport Compliance and in line with Company Policy and to provide guidance, support and training (Tool Box Talks) where necessary
  • Analysing the data from both the Driver and the VU and reporting accordingly
  • Take a leading role in helping prepare for future O Licence enhancements/Changes
Essential Criteri
  • Experienced in HGV/PSV operation
  • Previous tacho compliance knowledge
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Confident with computer skills
  • Possess a clean driving licence
  • Extensive knowledge of the DVSA/O license legal obligation
  • Confident taking responsibility for leading and motivating teams, delegating management responsibility appropriately whilst ensuring accountability for decision making.
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to define strategy for resources and performance within a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain beneficial working relationships with multiple stakeholders, confident liaising with decision makers at all levels.
  • Ability to make informed and objective decisions that are consistent with the needs of the wider business, considering relevant internal and external contributors.
  • An articulate communicator, confident liaising with decision makers at all levels with strong negotiation skills and with the ability to inform, persuade and influence.
  • Good presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade a varied audience with a combination of effective content and appropriate delivery.
Desirable Criteria (Max 5)

  • CPC Qualification
  • IOSH/NEBOSH trained
  • Previous history of training
