Job Title: Senior Process/Project Engineer (Pre-Sales & Execution)
Location: Warrington
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £60,000 (negotiable, based on experience)
Travel: Worldwide travel required

GPW Recruitment is seeking a Senior Process/Project Engineer (Pre-Sales & Execution) for a leading global engineering and equipment company. Based in Warrington, this permanent role offers the chance to work on international projects and deliver solutions in the Non-Alcoholic Beverages (NAB) and Home/Personal Care (HPC) sectors. The role includes both pre-sales technical support and project execution, making it ideal for a versatile engineer with extensive experience in hygienic process industries.

Key Responsibilities – Pre-Sales:

* Client Engagement: Support the sales team with client visits and presentations, translating client needs into technical solutions.

* Process & Equipment Design: Perform process, equipment, and piping sizing, develop P&IDs, and key execution plans for proposals.

* Costing & Proposal Development: Collaborate with various functions to prepare costings, consolidate project costs, and develop technical and commercial proposals.

* Documentation: Ensure all proposal documentation is maintained in line with company standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities – Project Execution:

* Design Production: Create P&IDs, equipment lists, datasheets, and functional descriptions, ensuring the technical integrity of all deliverables.

* Supplier Management: Produce RFQs, perform bid analyses, and recommend vendors to the project manager or supply chain team.

* Project Support: Assist the project manager with change control, scope variations, and client communications.

* Commissioning & Testing: Participate in commissioning, product and cleaning tests, and provide initial production support.

* Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all project documents are up to date and comply with company procedures and QHSE standards.

Performance Metrics:

* Pre-Sales: Accuracy of designs, costings, and scopes, timely delivery of proposals, and management of scope gaps.

* Execution: Achieve accuracy in designs, meet contractual performance targets, manage scope and changes, and deliver designs on time with successful project commissioning.

Requirements:

* Qualifications: Degree in Food/Dairy, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.

* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in:

* Leading and managing process/equipment bids and proposals.

* Client-facing presentations and design-cost justification.

* Engineering and equipment supply in hygienic processes (food, dairy, beverage, pharma, or personal care sectors).

* Technical Skills: Ability to independently produce designs (P&IDs, mass/energy balances), size equipment and piping, and assess risks for QSHE compliance.

* Project Management: Experience managing small projects and teams, including scope, time, cost, and quality control.

* Mentorship: Capable of supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers.

* Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, formulation ingredients, and equipment suppliers for food/dairy/beverage or home/personal care sectors.

* Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.

Travel:

* This role will involve worldwide travel, so candidates must be flexible and willing to travel frequently.
