Position: Project Manager

Contract: Fixed Term, 2 Year contract with the potential for extension

Location: Reading

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:


As a Project Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of leading projects and task groups within the industry. This role is a unique opportunity to elevate your career while making a real impact on industry standards.


Project Lead: Manage the development of technical projects and initiatives in sustainable land management.

Promote Initiatives: Present and promote CL:AIRE Initiatives and services, such as the Definition of Waste Code of Practice (DoW CoP).

Build Relationships: Cultivate partnerships and collaborations to enhance project outcomes and expand CL:AIRE's influence.

Coordination: Managing and steering working groups

Liaison Role: Act as the key contact between task groups and external stakeholders

Standards Alignment: Ensure projects are aligned to to industry best practices and regulatory standards.

Technical Writing: Draft technical proposals, reports, and case studies.

Training Support: Assist in delivering CL:AIRE’s training programmes.

Additional Support: Contribute to any other tasks needed to support the CL:AIRE group.


Knowledge and Skills:


Required:

  1. A degree in Earth or Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  2. Familiarity with Aggregates Quality Protocol, DoW CoP, and relevant land quality guidance and legislation.
  3. Strong project management skills.
  4. Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of engaging with industry professionals.
  5. Strong organisational and self-management skills.
  6. Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions.


Preferred but not required:

  1. An MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology with a focus on Land Quality.
  2. Experience in geo-environmental consultancy, particularly related to contaminated land in the built environment.
  3. Progress toward or membership in a relevant professional institute.

This is a full-time role, but we are happy to consider part-time hours for the right candidate.
