Key Responsibilities : P&ID Development : Design and develop Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to accurately reflect the process flow, instrumentation, and control strategies. Collaborate with process engineers to integrate P&ID layouts into project designs. Ensure P&IDs comply with industry standards, company policies, and client specifications. Electrical Design & Implementation : Design and develop electrical systems for water treatment plants, including motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, and electrical distribution systems. Review and interpret electrical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate design and construction. Work with control engineers to integrate electrical components into automation systems. Instrumentation & Control : Specify and select instrumentation devices (flow meters, pressure sensors, level transmitters, etc.) based on process requirements. Design control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Ensure proper installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems. Project Management : Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of electrical and instrumentation deliverables. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to meet project goals. Liaise with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure alignment of project requirements. Compliance & Safety : Ensure that all designs comply with national and international codes (IEC, NEC, IEEE) and environmental regulations. Maintain safety protocols in the design and implementation of electrical and instrumentation systems. Conduct risk assessments and ensure mitigation strategies are in place. Documentation & Reporting : Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including datasheets, wiring diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, and control system architecture. Maintain accurate records of changes and updates to electrical and instrumentation designs. Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Experience : 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in water or wastewater treatment industries. Extensive experience with P&ID development and interpretation. Proven expertise in the design, selection, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems. Technical Skills : Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for electrical and P&ID design. Strong understanding of PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and instrumentation devices. Familiarity with industry codes and standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, etc.). Knowledge of electrical system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, etc.) is a plus. Soft Skills : Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
