Job Description

Essential Skills: Strong technical knowledge of: Collaboration tools: Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket/GitHub Operating Systems: Unix, Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu), Windows Mounting technologies: Autofs, DFS Protocols: NFS, CIFS Virtualization technologies: VMWare Horizon/ESXi/Cloud Foundation Agile methodologies (Scrum) Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Powerpoint, Excel) Excellent communication and documentation skills Advantageous Skills: Knowledge of Agile Working Model (AWM) Framework and dedicated roles Experience in DevOps methodologies and team leadership Knowledge of migrating complex VDI environments Expertise in Linux (Redhat/Ubuntu) for high-performance virtual environments Knowledge of storage technologies (EMC2, NetApp) Experience with systems management tools (scVENUS, Ansible) and Ansible Tower Familiarity with Public and Private Cloud solutions (Azure, AWS) Knowledge of Data Security & Privacy best practices Understanding of Directory Access Manager (DIVA) Knowledge of Intelligent Storage Orchestration Environment (iStore) and Active Directory Gruppentool (ADGR) Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience Minimum 4 years of IT operations experience with ITIL certification (advantageous) Minimum 3 years of experience each in storage, Scrum, VDI/operating systems, and managing service provider topics Scrum certification (advantageous) Responsibilities: Understand complex CA application architecture and its impact on VDI environments Design VDI solutions tailored to business needs using BMW guidelines Develop Ansible playbooks to optimize CA application performance in VDI deployments (Public/Private Cloud) Manage VDI operations and maintenance within a hybrid cloud architecture Understand BMW's CA Data Management/"Follow the Data" approach for VDI deployment Drive automation initiatives related to VDI deployment, resource management, and asset management Define specific VDI engineering roles catering to application needs, supporting BMW partner onboarding Analyze global engineering resource demands and design optimal VDI solutions Continuously update BMW's CA VDI cloud strategy with cutting-edge architecture Perform housekeeping, monitoring, and management of VDI platforms, focusing on stability, performance, and cost optimization Define self-service requests in ServiceNow portals for VDI needs (resizing, additional VDI, platform switch) Report and forecast overall CA VDI demands based on user requirements and platforms Support and consult application owners on cloud migration requests specifically for VDIs Manage Problem, Incident, and Change processes for dedicated ITSM service Willingness to work weekends (on-call) for changes Operate and maintain scripts (e.g., deletion) Keep documentation up-to-date in relevant systems (CMDB, Application Instance Wizard, Connect IT, resolveIT) Attend and moderate operational meetings Coordinate with external contractors and service providers Manage and track service provider feedback and timelines Manage security vulnerabilities To Apply: If you are a highly skilled VDI engineer with a passion for the automotive industry, we encourage you to apply We look forward to hearing from you
