Network Engineer

As a Network Infrastructure Specialist at South Africa's premier tech solutions provider, you will be at the forefront of implementing cutting-edge technology solutions. Your primary mission is to resolve complex incidents, perform root cause analysis, and proactively optimize network performance. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, identifying opportunities to extend service offerings and driving value for our clients. Design and implement top-tier technology solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Proactively optimize network performance and enforce best practices. Identify opportunities for value-add and upsell services to existing customers. Advocate for automation, standardization, and quality improvements across the network. Develop strong relationships with internal peers and external partners. Collaborate to identify opportunities to expand the company’s service offerings. Work in server rooms/data centers, handling equipment racking and cabling. Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in IT server/network infrastructure. Advanced experience with Extreme switching, routing, and wireless products. Intermediate experience with Cisco, HP & Aruba switching, routing, and wireless products. Intermediate experience with FortiGate, SonicWall, or Sophos Firewalls. Experience in creating and implementing technical designs. Ability to assist project managers with proposals, project plans, and managing work streams. Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including presentation and white-boarding skills. ITIL framework knowledge for incident, request, and change management. Required Qualifications: One or more of the following certifications: Fortinet: NSE5, NSE7 Extreme Certified Specialist – Routing & Switching Sophos Certified Engineer CCNA Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Clear and confident communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions. Comfortable working with server rooms and handling physical network equipment. A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and quality.
