About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Voids Supervisor/Surveyor to join our team in London on a full-time permanent basis. You will provide effective and efficient supervision of contracts ensuring that all works are progressed efficiently and productively. Undertake and create pre and post inspections creating works specifications and gaining asset data as well as WiP inspections of void properties ensuring works are undertaken as per agreed specifications and that all works are delivered within the agreed timescales.

Reporting to the Voids and Lettings Manager you will oversee void repairs from start to finish to a high standard of quality whilst remaining within the boundaries of the void lettable standard, ensuring that time and cost is managed, compliance, and quality assurance is monitored and controlled. Provide technical expertise, problem solving and reporting on repairs and ensure solutions are provided right first time.


What were looking forWe are a customer-focussed organisation, so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You will be experienced working within Repairs, Voids, or Surveying role in a high-volume environment. You will also need to have great customer service skills and excellent stakeholder management, able to establish and maintain great working relationships with colleagues and suppliers and communicate effectively.

You will also be able to demonstrate the below essential skills and experience:

  • NVQ or equivalent in a building trade
  • Knowledge of SORs
  • Extensive experience supervising reactive repairs/void service for social housing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the disrepair legislation. A good understanding of Fitness for Human Habitation Act 2018, and Landlord & tenant Act 1985 Section 11
  • Experience supervising contractors.
  • Experience of providing clear and precise technical reports for use outside of the department.
  • Experience in identifying Damp defects and providing sustainable solutions.
  • Up to date understanding of health and safety responsibilities of a maintenance service, preferable IOSH Managing Safely.
