Buyer - Construction

P J Harte, a 40+ year established family run Building Refurbishment Contractor is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their head office in Hither Green London SE13, to help manage and process the procurement of construction based materials, hired in plant and services for the company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Sourcing and ordering materials, hired in plant and site services.
• Arranging quotations
• Placing orders
• Ensuring receipts are received and provided to accounts team
• Working with the accounts department to resolve invoice queries.
• Liaising with suppliers logistic teams and site teams to co ordinate deliveries and collections.
• Working closely with our other buyers and carrying out adhoc duties as required

We are looking for a Buyer who:

• Has experience/training in procurement, ideally of construction based materials, plant and services
• Has a background in construction with a good knowledge of refurbishment based materials and trades.
• Is organised, motivated, reliable, able to self manage and work well with others and has a keen commercial business sense.
• Has good computer skills and experience with excel and business management software
