Job Description
Job Title: Finance Manager
Salary: £50-£55k per annum + Bonus
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Bodiam
Our client is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to work within our dynamic business based in Bodiam. We envisage that the role will allow flexible working arrangements and will typically be 30 hours a week.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate sound financial control to ensure the timely and accurate production of financial information both internally and externally. As well as a desire to develop the function further in line with needs and requirements of the business.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Production of monthly reports to defined deadlines
- Annual budget process and interim forecast process
- Yearend accounts preparation
- Liaison with external auditors and tax advisors
- Complete regulatory group returns
- Information flow to budget holders
- Ensure integrity of management information
- Management of accounts team
- Assist with ISO, and liaise with HR and Payroll
- Expands the influence and scope of relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to the function to deliver successful results
- Plans and utilises resources effectively to deliver the organization’s objectives: manages change where necessary and plays a critical role in the development of others
Health & Safety Responsibilities – Manager
* To work in line with duty of care to self/others and ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed in line with company policy
* To protect the health & safety of visitors/contractors/external providers brought to site and ensure relevant H&S guidelines are met.
* To bring to the attention of the business hazards, risks, concerns, accidents or near misses
* Comply with any local PPE requirements
* To ensure health and safety requirements are met for/by reporting team, by formal or informal inspections
* To ensure all staff under their control and adequately informed, trained and supervised on H&S issues & where necessary arrange or do the training
* To ensure adequate provision and use of safety equipment including PPE for area (in line with department procedures, Risk Assessments etc)
* To foster and represent a culture of H&S compliance
* To ensure suitable and sufficient accident investigations are carried out
Education/Qualification Standard Required For Role
* The role would suit a qualified accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA)
Knowledge/Experience Required
* Must be comfortable working in a handson role and getting to know the business from top to bottom
* You will have a positive approach and be able to use your own initiative
* Excellent communication skills required and the ability to communicate financial information to nonfinance personnel
* Must have a proven track record of adding value in a commercial environment whilst raising the profile of finance across the wider business
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Sage 200
