Founding Engineer

Liquid is looking for a Founding Engineer to join a startup at its earliest stages as we work to deliver the best product possible to our early customers in the US!

About Liquid

Liquid is an M&A platform for M&A firms in the US.

There are over 10 million baby-boomer owned businesses that need to be sold over the next 15 years.

M&A firms will run the majority of these deals but are ill-equipped and underserved to handle the volume of deals that is coming.

Liquid exists to make these deals happen.

Traditionally these deals are done via static document repositories.

Thanks to recent advancements in LLM+RAG technology it is now possible to offer M&A firms massive productivity gains through data extraction, document understanding and custom M&A intelligence.

Our tech stack

We currently use Go/Postgres/Graphql on the backend + React/Typescript on the frontend. No worries if you have no experience with these specific technologies! As long as you have some full stack experience please apply!

Working at Liquid

Every week might look different at Liquid but here are some of things you could be working on:

• Improving the accuracy of document data extraction in our RAG pipeline.
• Building a new deep search tool that allows customers to use natural language to quickly find the information they're looking for.
• Adding our own "M&A intelligence" to the platform - computing information that isn't explicitly contained in any document.
• Improving our DX
• Improving our observability/systems monitoring.
• ... and talking to customers, fixing bugs, pairing on tricky problems and specing new features yourself etc.

Requirements

This isn't an exhaustive list, if you don't meet all the criteria (except #4, that one is required) please still apply!

We're looking for someone who:

1. Has ~3+ years experience
2. Is confident working on backend + frontend - they have delivered features end-to-end by themselves.
3. Is comfortable calling themselves a senior engineer.
4. (Most importantly) - is excited to move quickly and embrace the chaos.
