High Voltage/Marine Project Manager

Job Description
As a High Voltage Project Manager specialising in the Marine sector, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of power systems projects to provide world-class technical solutions, underpinned by an exceptional standard of service.
You will have excellent experience of delivering electro-technical projects encompassing modifications, upgrades, repairs and the integration of new systems. You will be expected to develop bespoke solutions for cabling, rotating machinery, switchgear, transformers, protection, and associated equipment. Knowledge of the operation of circuit breakers (ACB, MCCBs) would be desired.
You will demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and you will proactively update your customers and internal team members on the status of their project, upholding the quality service standards which are expected by our global client base.
Management Responsibilities:
Lead and manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, to ensure this is completed in accordance with industry standards of scope, on time and within budget
Meet commercial / naval contractual commitments and quality of repaired vessel
Defining all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.
Ensuring that the project follows execution best practices, effectively monitoring and controlling project progress and efficient resource utilisation.
Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status and all associated costs.
Attend regular meetings to check the progress of your projects and re-enforce deadlines and requirements where necessary.
Client Service Responsibilities:
Meet repairs / refit schedules by planning, monitoring projects' critical path, cost control and execution.
Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.
Acting as key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicating with all stakeholders.
Commercial Responsibilities:
Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and in-house accountants and negotiating price and payment agreements with vendors.
Generate new and repeat revenue streams for the company, contributing towards the overall sales targets.
Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers.
Check the profitability of your projects to ensure we can implement learnings and efficiencies within the company.
Skills and Experience - Essential
Minimum of five years’ experience of a similar position within the Marine industry.
Willing to travel to attend vessel surveys / oversee site work
Familiarity with maritime rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards including working with Class (Advantageous).
Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
Project management and supervision skills.
Strong commercial acumen.
Approachable leadership style with good organisational and team management skills
Ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels, to drive continuous improvements and behavioral change through the organisation.
Experience with:
Reading + interpreting schematics and GAs
Developing quotations and commercial documents
HV/ LV power distribution systems including the design of switchgear, transformers, protection, and associated equipment
Rotating machinery
Modbus and TCP/IP communications protocols, and RS-485 and Ethernet interfaces (Advantageous)
Application of power circuit monitoring equipment
Application of protective relaying, including over/under voltage, phase loss, frequency, G99, and sync check
Application of Automatic Changeover Circuits for Circuit Breakers (ACB’s, MCCB’s)
