Childcare Locum Solicitor

We are working with a Local Authority in the Greater Manchester Region looking for a Locum Childcare Solicitor to join their busy department on an interim basis.

The successful candidate must be UK qualified and have upwards of 12 months’ experience in:

• Childcare Law matters


• Advocacy before Courts is essential

Expertise in dealing with a wide range of matters including:

• Courts and tribunals include CMC’s, IRH’s, PLO’s and Directions Hearings


• Handling a personal portfolio of childcare cases


• Representing the Council in legal proceedings concerning children in the Family Court


• Matters include Public Law, Care Proceedings, Adoption, Child Protection, Fostering


• Advising, negotiating and drafting legal documents to the decisions of the Client Directorate and the Council Pay rate is between £45-55 per hour.

The council ideally offer a hybrid working environment. This is a full-time position.

The local authority is looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible. Due to the urgent nature of the role, we are looking to speak to candidates available on no more than 2 weeks’ notice. Previous childcare legal experience is essential.
