The Business:
This business is a London based Main Contractor who specialise in new build Residential across London and the South East.
The majority of the businesses work is repeat business. The quality of work they produce is one of their main selling points and over the years have built strong working relationships with sub-contractors, client teams and other consultants.
The business turnover in the region of £100m and deliver schemes up to £40m in build value. They work on new build RC Frame projects and new build care home schemes.
The Role: Senior Design Manager
We are currently looking for a Senior Design Manager to join the London business unit. The office is based in the City of London and your role will be split between office, site and remote working.
The role will be looking after 1 or 2 live projects at anyone time, reporting into the Design Director
Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
* Appointing external consultants.
* Resolving technical issues arising from sites.
* Managing the consultants’ appointment process & paperwork including: PI insurance, Collateral Warranties.
* Checking working drawing packages produced by External Consultants.
* Suggesting alternative construction methods, details, and materials to increase margin, improve quality and reduce lifetime costs.
* Obtaining design drawings from suppliers and obtaining consultant approval.
* Appointing / checking Landscape Architects details.
* Checking Structural Engineers drawings in relation to the Architects drawings.
* Attending site meetings and reporting to the Design Director regarding updates and progress.
* Obtaining ground investigation/remediation reports
