Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer / Consultant (Contract)
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to UK cities and client locations)
Travel expenses fully covered
Start Date: ASAP / by 14th October 2024
Day Rate: £600 - £700 per day
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client's team on a 3-month contract. You will work with customers within the higher education, university, and research sectors, helping them leverage cutting-edge technologies to improve their operational efficiency and infrastructure.
You will collaborate closely with teams that manage high-performance computing (HPC) environments, with a focus on Kubernetes, Linux, and open-source connectivity in live environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage DevOps solutions for customers in higher education and research sectors.
Work with HPC systems and deploy, maintain, and scale Kubernetes clusters.
Ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of Linux-based infrastructure.
Support open-source software and connectivity solutions in live, production environments.
Collaborate with client IT teams to implement DevOps best practices and solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Conduct site visits to customer locations (UK cities) as required.
Key Skills and Experience:
Strong DevOps experience: Proven track record in designing and implementing DevOps solutions in complex, live environments.
HPC: Experience with high-performance computing environments.
Kubernetes: Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production.
Linux: Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and administration.
Open-Source Connectivity: Experience with managing and integrating open-source solutions.
