Job Description

Within Corporate functions, ArcelorMittal Treasury is the central treasury of the Group, acting as the internal bank of the Group, facing financial markets to deal with all corporate finance and price risk management matters. Scope of assets under management, number of subsidiaries managed by Treasury and structure of the cash pooling make AM Treasury one of the most elaborate and sophisticated corporate treasuries.


As a Commando IT/Quantitative IT within the Financial Risk Management (FRM) team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing IT solutions to automate and enhance production processes, improve models, and automate trade execution through Straight-Through Processing (STP). Your role will emphasize system development, automation, and advanced quantitative analysis.


Responsibilities:

  • Automation and Enhancement: Develop and implement IT solutions to automate and enhance production processes within the Treasury team
  • Optimization Solutions: Provide system-related solutions to optimize FRM processes and reduce routine work
  • Trade Execution Automation: Automate trade execution through Straight-Through Processing (STP) to enhance efficiency and accuracy and drop certain deals into a book for market making and further extend this part to include algorithmic trading
  • Pricing and Models Improvement: Collaborate with quantitative analysts and tradersto develop and improve pricing models and algorithms
  • System Development: Lead the design and development of financial systems to improve data management, processing and reporting
  • System Reliability: Ensure the reliability and performance of financial IT systems through regular maintenance and updates
  • Code Optimization: Optimize code for enhanced computational power and efficiency
  • Workshops and Project Management: Design and conduct Business Analysis to capture user needs and conduct user interviews to analyze and model business requirements for IT-related projectsand manage these projects effectively
  • Agility and Bug Fixing: Bring agility to the FRM IT environment and be able to quickly fix bugs as they arise

Required Education and Experience:

  • Education: Computer Science, Information Technology or Quantitative Finance IT oriented master’s degree with experience in Financial Markets and/or Treasury
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in an IT/Quant Developer or system-oriented role
  • Interest in Financial Markets: A strong interest in financial markets, derivatives, algorithms, and coding
  • Market Knowledge: Understanding of various financial markets such as FX, Energy and Commodities
  • Financial Tools Familiarity: Familiarity with Bloomberg and Refinitiv is a plus
  • Language Skills: Fully proficient in English, both verbal and written. Fluency in French is a strong plus
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Java, Python, SQL, PySpark, VBA, other data analysis tools (C++ would be a plus)
