Job Description

Location: North York, ON – Hybrid (2 days per week in the office - Wednesday is mandatory) Contract Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension Working Hours: M-F 40 hours per week (standard office hours) Pay Rate: $40-50/hour Job Title: IT Asset & Configuration Manager Job Description: As the IT Asset & Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for defining and managing the policies and processes related to Service Asset and Configuration Management. You will work closely with IT management to ensure that all configuration items (CI) and IT infrastructure are up-to-date, and partner with IT Service Operations to maintain and improve the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Key Responsibilities: Lead the strategy, development, and implementation of Configuration and Asset Management operations, including people, processes, policies, and tools. Develop, communicate, and enforce configuration management plans, standards, and processes. Create, implement, and manage the Service Asset Management policy and associated standards. Ensure all assets are uniquely identified according to established naming conventions, and enforce compliance across the organization for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, baselines, and templates. Collaborate with other IT functions such as Change, Problem, Network, Release, Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Administration to establish effective interfaces. Maintain and enhance the Configuration Management process with input from IT business stakeholders. Oversee the population and accuracy of the Asset Register and CMDB. Regularly review and assess the efficiency of Asset and Configuration Management processes, implementing approved changes as needed. Key Success Indicators : Ensure configuration changes are compliant and do not negatively impact services. Manage the CMDB and evaluate changes to ensure high-quality request for change (RFC) processes. Coordinate all CMDB changes affecting services according to the Change Control policy. Maintain in-depth knowledge of the impact of configuration changes and communicate them effectively. Control the status of configuration and service items, providing accurate data for informed decision-making. Ensure secure access to configuration items, maintaining the integrity of all assets. Manage the identification, control, recording, auditing, and verification of configuration items, including their versions, baselines, and attributes. Requirements: 3 years of experience in: Configuration Management (ServiceNow) Asset Management (software & hardware) Preferred Skills: Experience in IT technical fields and service management. Proven leadership in Service Asset and Configuration Management within a dynamic environment. Expertise in IT Service Management processes, including Configuration, Change, Incident, Problem, and Release Management. Strong background in database design and architecture. Specialized knowledge of defining, documenting, and implementing Asset and Configuration Management processes for hardware and software CIs. ITIL v3 certification and thorough understanding of ITIL Service Lifecycle Management Processes. Experience working in complex, multi-supplier environments. Proficiency with IT Service Management toolsets (e.g., ServiceNow, Microsoft SCCM). Current understanding of assets and CMDB models and methodologies. Strong attention to detail, methodical, and organized. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adaptable, self-motivated, and proactive team player with a positive attitude.
