Job RequirementsCirculating duties preferred with knowledge in multiple types of cases.ENT (FESS (sinus), septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy) and soft tissue - thyroid/parathyroid.Davinci XI experience required.Two years of experience or first time travelers with experience at a hospital of similar or larger size, handling majority of common cases but MUST HAVE ENT and DaVinci Xi (Gyn, Uro, General).
Schedule Information4-10 hour shifts, variable days and start times Mon-Friday.Start times: 0630/0900/1100.No self-scheduling, but start time is consistent for the same week.Tuesdays and Fridays have later start times for in services and team meetings.1 call (in total for weekday/weekend) per 4 week schedule.Weekday call begins at the end of shift until 7am next morning.Weekend call is 24 hours from 7am to 7am, rotated between staff and travelers.
Unit Specific InformationDepartment specifics: 16 different service lines.Common cases include GYN/ Uro/ Vascular/ Plastic/ Ortho (total hips/ knees)/ Neuro/ Cardiovascular/ Thoracic/ General (Breast/ HPB/ Bariatric)/ Sports Med (Hand/ Podiatry)/ Kidney transplants and more.Charge nurse role includes running board and serving as a resource.Orientation: 1-2 days in HR and OR leadership orientation, includes training for EHR, plus 1-2 days on the unit with a preceptor, possibly longer if no previous Cerner experience.
Additional DetailsBLS certification is required.No scrubbing required for RNs.Call room is available with a 30-minute response time.No floating requirements.Dress code: Teal scrubs are provided, must follow AORN standards.Positive work environment where physicians and team are very helpful and willing to teach.Travelers often extend their contracts.
