Solar PV Electrical AC Designer

Perfect Sense Energy is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate AC electrical designer to join our commercial only Solar PV business. The ideal candidate will be an electrical engineer or hold relevant electrical qualifications with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial solar PV installations. This role would suit someone who has worked on the tools and now looking to develop in a survey & design-based role.

You will be joining a team that is passionate about renewable energy and making a positive impact on the environment. You will be responsible for electrical AC designs/specifications, site audits ensuring compliance and quality, assisting our DNO team with technical queries and site visits at the pre-construction phase with the surveyors (nationwide initially). You will be working closely with the pre-construction, sales and the delivery teams to ensure the project is planned as accurately as possible enabling a smooth installation and an excellent level of customer service is imperative.

You will be familiar with a range of panels, inverters, meters, and electrical switch gear ranges from varied manufacturers. Your day-to-day work will be designing the AC element of a Solar PV system. You will also have experience and working knowledge of dealing with District Network Operators.

You will comfortable working alone as well as a team and will be reporting directly to The Head of Electrical & Pre-Construction.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Electrical engineering qualification and/or significant electrical PV design and installation experience
• 3+ years in the specification and/or installation and of solar PV commercial roof systems
• Based in the Northwest of England
• 18th Edition Qualified
• AC biased

Desirable

• Proficient using PV design software AutoCAD and PVSol
• Experience of specifying and/or installing battery storage systems
• Experience of specifying and/or installing EV charge points
• This position would suit a time served electrician with vast knowledge of the PV industry.
