Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with extensive experience in the telecommunications or cable industry to join our team, overseeing major projects in the Liverpool area. This senior role requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure successful project delivery in a fast-paced and complex environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), or review and approve subcontractor documentation
  • Organize and oversee lift plans for high-risk operations or assess subcontractor lift plans
  • Conduct thorough daily risk assessments and issue permits for high-risk activities (e.g., cable installation, working at height)
  • Implement and monitor compliance with safety and quality standards, ensuring all operations meet industry regulations
  • Supervise all operations, inspections, and testing according to the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
  • Liaise with clients for inspection witness points and manage all necessary documentation
  • Handle non-conformance reports, taking corrective action and maintaining a list of outstanding issues
  • Document site conditions before project commencement and ensure final reinstatement meets or exceeds standards
  • Oversee and attend trial hole operations, reviewing reports and ensuring compliance
  • Maintain a detailed daily site diary, including progress updates and photographic records


Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Extensive experience in the telecommunications or cable industry, ideally within a senior project engineering role
  • Manage complex projects from inception to completion
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills
  • Ideally educated to HND or degree level in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions
  • A valid driving license is required
